data-mm-id=”_w2fes8kaz”>Despite trading away any and all talent they had on the roster, the Miami Dolphins didn't end up with the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Instead, they found themselves at No. 5, but fortunately for them, still ended up with what they hope is their quarterback of the future in Tua Tagovailoa. While their efforts to land the Alabama star didn't lack the usual dose of NFL subterfuge, it also came from a bit of luck after Tagovailoa's injury suffered in November raised enough medical red flags for him to drop. The development may have worked out fortuitously for Miami, but now that he's on the roster, they have to confront the very-real problems that Tagovailoa's injury history represents. If anything can be said about Miami's current front office, it's that they understand how to play the long game. They'll be as cautious with their rookie QB as possible. Football is still football, and tucking him away in fear he could re-injure himself has quickly diminishing returns. If the Dolphins get him in with their team doctors before the season starts and find, despite his claims and various leaked medical reports, that he isn't totally healed, that's one thing. But eventually, he'll have a clean bill from doctors, and like every other team, they'll have to take the risk of him getting hurt in order to play him. But there's no reason to force the issue. As Armando Salguero from the Miami Herald detailed in a recent Press Pass Podcast, Tagovailoa faces an uphill battle to win the starting job even ignoring the injury issues. Incumbent starter Ryan Fitzpatrick has worked with Dolphins offensive coordinator Chan Gailey in Buffalo, New York, and now Miami. He, as Salguero put it, knows the offense like the back of his hand. Pair that with the fact that it's difficult for a rookie quarterback to learn and adjust to an NFL playbook in normal times, much less without being able to be at the team facilities for rookie training camp, and Tagovailoa will be a few steps behind even if training camp goes on business as usual– which seems unlikely at this juncture. Then there's the offensive line. Miami traded away their best lineman in the form of Laremy Tunsil before the season started and were impacted accordingly. Between Josh Rosen and Fitzpatrick, the Dolphins' line gave up a total of 56 sacks last year. They added reinforcements this offseason by signing perfectly adequate center Ted Karras and drafting Austin Jackson, Robert Hunt, and Solomon Kindley. But Jackson and Hunt are developmental projects who need some tutelage before they can make a consistent impact, and Kindley is a fourth-round pick, so expectations should be tempered. As PFF's Mike Renner points out, this is a matter of concern when you think about Tagovailoa's injury history in tandem with the downgrade in protection he's getting in leaving Alabama. I didn't realize that Tua was hit or sacked on only 77 dropbacks his entire college career. And he was injured 3 times.Ryan Fitzpatrick was hit or sacked on 132 dropbacks last season (2nd most in NFL)No way I'm starting Tua until that OL is fixed— Mike Renner (@PFF_Mike) May 5, 2020This obviously does not automatically mean that Tagovailoa is destined for the IR if Miami throws him behind their below-average offensive line from the outset. The term "injury-prone" is a weird one to throw around in the NFL because every play brings a high risk of injury for every player more than any other professional sport. But two things are undeniably true: Tagovailoa was either hurt or banged up more often than his rookie counterparts in college, and Miami's offensive line will not be one of the better groupings in the league next season. Tagovailoa will see the field in 2020 unless previously-unreported medical issues pop up when Miami finally gets him in the building. A rebuilding team can't justify not playing the player they're pinning the future of the franchise on at some point, injury history be damned. But given everything, it would be a big surprise to see him trotting out onto the Hard Rock Stadium turf in the early going– and that's for the best.

The former Arsenal striker has struggled to settle since joining in 2014 and has faced a number of disciplinary problems this season, including fines for being late to training and for posting a photo on social media of his Mercedes, which angered the hierarchy of a club sponsored by Volkswagen.
Bendtner, who had been training alone in recent weeks, has now been exempted from training with the rest of the squad and sporting director Klaus Allofs expects a decision on his future to be made imminently.

Championship triumph has been invaluable to his side.
Leicester are seven points clear and six games away from a remarkable Premier League title following Sunday s 1-0 win at home to Southampton.
Morgan said the members of the Leicester squad that won the Championship England s second tier have been able to draw on that experience to help them navigate the task of seeing out the Premier League campaign.
In 2015-16, Leicester boast five players that were a part of their Championship win, and while Morgan admits the challenge is bigger this time around, the virtues of momentum are not…
Real Madrid must win at Celta Vigo on Sunday and hope Barcelona and Atletico Madrid slip up if they are to remain in the Liga title race.
Carlo Ancelotti s side dropped points against Valencia and Real Valladolid in disappointing draws last week, meaning Barca and Atletico both now have the league crown in their hands.
Those draws have left Real four points adrift of city rivals and UEFA Champions League final opponents Atletico, who host Malaga this weekend as Barca travel to Elche.
With Diego Simeone s men heading to Camp Nou on the final day, there remains an outside chance for Real to usurp their rivals and claim back the crown they last won in 2012.
Having won the Copa del Rey in April, and with a Lisbon showdown against Atletico to come later this month, A…

France midfielder Yohan Cabaye believes he and his team-mates can prove head coach Laurent Blanc wrong when Euro 2012 gets underway.
Blanc has said he feels there is a lack of experience in the French midfield as the countdown continues to the head coach naming his 23-man squad for the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine.
Cabaye, who has played 10 times for his country, believes that with more games the midfield will continue to grow.
We, the midfielders, we work hard, we gain experience after every game we play with the national team, Cabaye said.
That s the only way to get this experience playing the games and the competitions.
There is no way you can say you have experience if you are not on the pitch.

As the Christmas season unofficially began on December 1, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looked anything but merry.
Manchester United had been held to a 2-2 draw at home by promoted Aston Villa and the Red Devils performance was utterly rancid for much of the game. Solskjaer appeared helpless at full-time.
Ahead of a particularly bleak run of mid-winter fixtures, reports suggested Solskjaer could join Santa in expecting to be burdened with the sack for Christmas. Two games to save his job, some said, with Mauricio Pochettino looming large.

Milan coach Stefano Pioli said he was so overcome with emotion following Sinisa Mihajlovic s return to the Bologna bench on Sunday that he just wanted to hug his opposite number.
Mihajlovic was back on the touchline for the first time since a bone marrow transplant last month, having been diagnosed with leukaemia earlier in the year.
Bologna were unable to make Mihajlovic s return a victorious one, however, as Milan claimed a slender 3-2 win despite Nicola Sansone s late penalty leading to a tense finish.
But Pioli spoke with more enthusiasm about Mihajlovic than he did Milan s performance.
It was a real pleasure to see him, Pioli told Sky Sport Italia. I wanted to hug him, but he said it was better not to [due to his condition]. But it was still excitin…
